Recharge your Battery!

I attended a Global Warming Seminar, which highlighted the pollution generated by batteries. Therefore, I urge you to avoid throwing them away, as we usually do, since A SINGLE WRIST WATCH BATTERY CAN CONTAMINATE AN ENTIRE OLYMPIC POOL!

If we take a little time to handle the residues that we generate ourselves, we will contribute to keep the Earth, which will be inherited by our children, at least in the same condition as we knew it when we were children.

As a preventive measure, follow these steps when throwing away your batteries:

1.-Seal both battery poles with adhesive tape.
2.-Place them in a plastic soda bottle.
Once the bottles are filled with batteries, take them to a Civil Protection Agency.

They are in charge of handling them for highway construction. Batteries are placed between cement layers in order to avoid pollution and degradation. Otherwise, when they are in contact with soil and humidity, they release poisoning substances, such as mercury, which can cause memory loss among other conditions. Thus, batteries release these substances in the soil and when it rains they filtrate until reaching the aquifers, polluting the water we use, as well as the crops.

Please think about it and make your contribution in order to avoid pollution, since the damage is irreversible. Let’s try to at least stop it!

Did you know that Mexico occupies the 14th place among the most polluting countries? Isn’t this bad enough?
